Cutting Edge…Always

Long covid, inuspheresis, TLC The Lyday Center

People often ask me...

"How do you stay on the cutting edge?"

The answer is simple.

I never stop being a student.

Yesterday started before the sun came up—not with patients, but with a virtual meeting across the Atlantic.

I spent my morning learning from one of Spain's leading physicians treating Long COVID, diving into his latest protocols, discussing the science, and exploring a therapy that has me incredibly excited: INUSpheresis.

Every time I think we've reached the edge of medicine...

I discover there's another frontier.

What I love most about functional and regenerative medicine is that we're never satisfied with "good enough."

If there's a way to help someone recover faster...

Reduce inflammation more effectively...

Restore quality of life...

We're going to study it.

We're going to ask hard questions.

And if the science and clinical experience support it...

We're going to bring it to our patients.

That conversation yesterday did exactly that.

It challenged me.

Inspired me.

And reminded me why I fell in love with this field in the first place.

The next step?

✈️ A trip to Spain.

I want to see these treatments firsthand.

I want to experience the protocols.

I want to understand every detail before bringing the best ideas home.

One therapy I'm especially eager to explore is INUSpheresis—an advanced blood purification technology that is being used in parts of Europe alongside other extracorporeal therapies for selected patients with complex inflammatory illnesses. I'm excited to learn where it fits, who may benefit most, and how it compares with the therapeutic plasma exchange and apheresis work we're already doing.

My dream has never been to build just another clinic.

My dream has always been to build a place where patients don't have to wait ten years for innovation to arrive.

Where the world's best ideas come together under one roof.

Where curiosity never stops.

Where hope is always evolving.

Because the sickest patients deserve physicians who are still willing to ask...

"What else is possible?"

And as long as I'm practicing medicine...

I'll keep chasing that answer.

Spain... we'll see you soon. 🇪🇸❤️
