Resilience is her middle name…
Have you ever met someone and just thought—how are you still here fighting the fight? Someone who is strong beyond anything you could ever imagine? That is how I felt today with my new warrior. And as you can imagine, I see some doozies in my practice.
Even her conception was fraught with trauma—her mother conceived her while having an affair. Crazy to believe, right? As a result, her biological father never wanted anything to do with her. But still, as a 5-year-old, she gave him her forgiveness and understood that he just wasn’t the father she needed. Her birth mother and stepfather believed in using the belt as a way to discipline her, but even with that, she looks at them with love in her eyes when she says she loves her mom with all of her heart despite her struggles with addiction.
She had to leave UW Madison halfway through her college career, despite having a full scholarship, to come home and rescue her little brother and get her parents into rehab. And yet—no malice in her heart. Are you getting how amazing this powerhouse is?
She always knew she wanted to dive deep into her health and sought a functional medicine approach way back in 2020. She struggled with infertility, but after identifying the root causes, she was able to have four amazing little ones with the love of her life. She knew that conventional medicine wasn’t her path, so she invested significant time and money searching for answers. Yet, she still faced nagging symptoms—no energy, falling asleep while driving, hormonal imbalances, chronic pain, hair loss. So when she heard about our healing center opening, she decided to give yet another doctor a try. And I am so glad she did.
She knew it wasn’t normal to have standing water in the basement. And when the remediation company came and blew mold-infested dust all over her home, she fought for them to come back and make it right. She knew mold wasn’t good for her or her children, and she took action.
But the worst was yet to come. About two years ago, a teenager didn’t see her coming down the highway and turned right in front of her while she was driving 57 mph. The crash totaled both cars and left this warrior in constant, daily pain with over seven disc herniations and a variety of other injuries. Did she give up? Nope. Not this one. She knew something was wrong, even when it took multiple attempts to find the herniated discs in her thoracic spine.
This warrior knows that life is meant to be lived. She knows she is a force and that she is meant to change the world. And I cannot wait to help her reach all of her goals!
Follow along to witness this warrior’s journey as she fights to reclaim her health and inspire others with her strength and resilience.
