Walking The Walk
Walking the Walk: My Journey Testing New Protocols for Spike Protein
One of the cornerstones of my practice in functional medicine is this: I don’t just recommend protocols—I live them. Especially as someone who’s “moldy” and highly sensitive, I’ve learned the hard way that my body doesn’t tolerate surprises. If I’m going to ask a patient to try something new, you can be sure I’ve already done the dance with it myself—because your healing matters that much to me.
The Catalyst: A New Spike Protein Protocol
At this year’s mold conference with two of my trusted mentors, Dr. Neil Nathan and Dr. Jill Crista, a new spike protein protocol was introduced. The implications were intriguing—and personal. Ever since receiving the COVID vaccine, I’ve noticed a dramatic worsening in my symptoms. Though I haven’t yet tested my spike protein levels (I plan to use the Radiance Lab testing we learned about at the conference), I know intuitively that spike protein plays a role in what’s been happening in my body.
And so, like always, I leaned in.
What’s in the Protocol?
This particular protocol is unique—and rare in our world—because it’s peer-reviewed. That alone caught my attention. It includes:
Pravastatin (short-term use)
An antiretroviral, commonly used for HIV-positive patients
Injectable heparin to directly target spike protein interference
Knowing that ivermectin has consistently helped me (for both parasite and spike protein support), I felt confident trying this more intensive approach.
The Reaction: My Body’s Protest
I wish I could say it was smooth sailing. But the truth is, I have never been sicker.
Two weeks into the protocol, my body rebelled:
Constant nausea and vertigo
Unable to tolerate any of my usual supplements
Body-wide pain and intense fatigue
This morning: uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhea, and violent dry heaving
If it weren’t for my amazing husband who got an IV into me—loaded with Zofran and stabilizing nutrients—I don’t know how I would’ve turned the corner. (Still working on it, honestly.)
I’m someone who never has stomach issues. This level of dysregulation was a clear sign of just how potent this protocol is for someone like me.
Why I Do This
You may wonder—why put myself through this?
Because I believe in leading from the front. I won’t ask you to take a leap I wouldn’t take first. I want to know:
How does it feel?
What are the risks?
What kind of support does the body need?
Is it worth it?
My role isn’t just to guide you—it’s to walk beside you.
Always Searching for the “Why”
The work we do together is about answers. About peeling back layers to find the root cause behind chronic illness, mystery diagnoses, and relentless symptoms. I live with the same questions you do, and I won’t stop searching until we uncover a path that works.
So if you’re in a place of uncertainty, stuck in a health spiral, or just plain exhausted—I get it. I’ve been there. And I’m still there sometimes. But I won’t stop. Not for me. And definitely not for you.
Let’s walk this healing path together.
With love,
Dr. Tamara Lyday
