WOW - Total Toxins with PFA

From 12 Toxins in the Red… to One

My Personal Results with Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE)

As a functional medicine physician, I believe deeply in testing, measuring, and verifying what we do.

Recently, I repeated my Vibrant Wellness Total Toxins Panel with PFAs (forever chemicals) after completing my 6th–7th therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) treatment at our clinic.

The results stopped me in my tracks.

Only one toxin remained elevated — gliotoxin.

That’s it.

Just months ago, prior to my most recent series of TPE treatments, I had over 12 toxins in the red and yellow zones, including environmental toxins and persistent compounds that are notoriously difficult to eliminate.

Today, nearly all of them have cleared.

And that matters.

Why This Is Significant

Many environmental toxins — especially PFAs (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) — are known as “forever chemicals.”

They accumulate in:

  • Blood

  • Nervous tissue

  • Organs

  • Fat stores

They are associated in the scientific literature with:

  • Immune dysregulation

  • Hormonal disruption

  • Neuroinflammation

  • Increased risk of chronic degenerative conditions

While we cannot claim that removing toxins prevents specific diseases, we do know this:

Chronic toxic burden contributes to inflammation, oxidative stress, and cellular dysfunction — the foundational terrain in which neurodegenerative and autoimmune illnesses develop.

Reducing toxic load improves the terrain.

And terrain matters.

Why TPE Is Different

Most detox strategies rely on:

  • Liver support

  • Binders

  • Sweating

  • Nutritional pathways

  • Time

While these are valuable, PFAs and certain circulating toxins bind tightly to plasma proteins and persist in the bloodstream for years.

Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) works differently.

It:

  • Removes a portion of plasma directly

  • Filters circulating toxins bound to plasma proteins

  • Replaces that plasma with clean replacement fluid

  • Physically lowers measurable toxin burden

For compounds that are otherwise difficult to mobilize, this is a powerful intervention.

What My Results Show

Before my most recent TPE series:

  • 12+ toxins flagged in red/yellow

  • Significant environmental burden

  • Persistent elevations despite lifestyle, sauna, and binder protocols

After repeated TPE treatments:

  • Nearly all markers normalized

  • Only one toxin (gliotoxin) remained elevated

  • Dramatic measurable reduction in total toxic load

This is not theoretical.

It is measurable.

Why I’m So Excited to Offer This at The Lyday Center

As someone who has personally battled mold illness and environmental toxicity, I understand how debilitating chronic inflammatory burden can be.

Brain fog.
Fatigue.
Autoimmune activation.
Cognitive decline.
Mood changes.

When we reduce toxic load, we often see:

  • Improved clarity

  • Better resilience

  • Reduced inflammatory markers

  • Enhanced recovery capacity

TPE is not a magic cure.

It is not a shortcut around lifestyle.

But it is a powerful tool — especially for patients with:

  • High toxin burdens

  • Mold illness

  • Autoimmune activation

  • Neurologic inflammation

  • Chemical sensitivity

  • Elevated PFAs

The Bigger Picture

We live in a world saturated with environmental exposures.

Many are unavoidable.

But we are no longer powerless.

With advanced testing and targeted therapies like TPE, we can:

  • Quantify toxic burden

  • Track measurable change

  • Reduce systemic inflammatory load

  • Support long-term neurologic and immune resilience

This is one of the most exciting evolutions in functional medicine.

And I am incredibly proud that we are able to offer this level of care right here in our clinic.

If You’re Curious About Your Toxic Burden

If you struggle with:

  • Brain fog

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Autoimmune symptoms

  • Neurologic changes

  • History of mold exposure

  • Or simply want to understand your environmental risk load

Testing may provide clarity.

Data empowers decisions.

And sometimes, it opens the door to interventions that truly move the needle.

We cannot control every exposure.

But we can support the body’s resilience.

And sometimes, we can measure the difference.
